Ball Check! Brit Rugby Team plays Doctor.

It’s all fun and games til somebody discovers a lump. Full frontal nudity PSA. These British lads weather the laughter of their team mates and come out smiling with clean bills of health. Point of it all? Other than pure entertainment of course…it’s quick and easy to check your nuts and always more fun with a mate – or a dozen!

Timmy the Kid! Our Giants serially humiliate Oakland.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

When he’s not in the ballpark SF Giant’s pitcher Tim Lincecum looks more like a slacky hipster kid than a world class athlete. All that changes on the mound. Timmy the Kid moves like a lanky jungle cat, all energy in reserve until he unleashes his fastball. Poetry in motion and even the floppy hippy hair works. Five nothing in career starts against the As, who have lost eight straight to the Giants. For John Sheas’s article in the San Francisco Chronicle, click here.

Cherries…literally, for once.

In the Gay Highwaymen’s world, the word “cherry” is most commonly used metaphorically. So, for a change, here are some literal cherries. They were my dessert tonight…straight off the tree outside the vegetarian co-op house at Stanford.

Happy Serenely Sexy Vesak! #BuddhasBirthday

Sputnik photo 2009

In Bangkok, the gay hangout Q Bar is closed Tuesday for Vesak, a national holiday in Thailand and much of the Eastern world. More than Buddha’s Birthday, as it is sometimes known, Vesak commemorates not only the birth, but also the enlightenment and passing of Gautama Buddha. Other names for the commemorative day include Vesākha, Wesak, Visakah Puja, Vaishaka, Buddha Purnima, Visakha Bucha, Saga Dawa, 佛誕 (fó dàn), Phật Đản วิสาขบูชา and Araw Ni Buddha. Kudos! SF Giants to make an “It Gets Better” Video

According to an SF Weekly article: “the team will make an iconic ‘It Gets Better’ video to encourage LGBT youth across the nation. The Giants will be the first professional sports team to join the spirited campaign aimed at curbing LGBT bullying and teen suicides.” Good for the Giants! Way to set the bar, boys. For more about the ‘It Gets Better’ anti-bullying media campaign, click here. For a bizarre promo for the Giants May 25th “Dynamite: A Fundraiser for Keenan Cahill” click here. Homo Kiss-Ins for I.D.A.H.O. – International Day Against HOmophobia

May 17th is International Day Against HOmophobia. I.D.A.H.O. is a francophone project, with roots in Paris and branches in Quebec, but events are planned around the world. Kiss-Ins are a popular theme.  San Francisco’s Gary Virginia is planning a Pink Party at the Cafe Flore from 5 – 7 pm. The Flore, or the Cafe Hairdo as it has long been known to locals, is located at the northeast corner of Market and Noe. Come hang out and make out! For a current list of I.D.A.H.O. happenings, plus images for download and more, click here. For a slide show of Sexy Guys Kissing, click here!

San Juan Bautista One-Room Jail…Cozy!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

These old one-room jail cells are common in the American West. It seems that every mission town and stagecoach stop had one. Some had fold-down plank beds, others had bunks. This one features a metal cot with attached shackles. No night-time escapees! Most had a jug for washing and a hole for a toilet. Sometimes, a chair. Luxury lifestyle living! The San Juan jail was built in 1870.
