Patrick Mulcahey informs us that the model is John Pruitt, a favorite of Colt Publishing. Gerard Koskovich ids the photographer as Jim French, aka Rip Colt. Thanks, Guys!

Thanks for the alert, Tamara. I see that someone has posted the identity of the model and has suggested that it’s a Colt photo. Even without that tidbit, I would have said it was a photo by Jim French (founder of Colt) based on the style of the image.
